  Went there for lunch and the staff was very friendly. Food was great and very reasonably priced for what I got. I will be back to try out their happy hour!

  Up until very recently, Avenue Bar had been offering a happy hour special that ran until 6:00 PM on Fridays. This is apparently no longer the case, as I found out today that the special now only runs until Thursday. Shame on me for not reading the fine print in the menu but I still felt betrayed that no one saw fit to inform me of this as I ordered the same things I had been ordering every Friday for quite some time. I had been enjoying my time there, but the unexpected doubling of my bill means I'm not going back. Situation felt greasy and dishonest.

  I was there with a group along with my wife Laura Regine. I had the Fried Cod and fries. It was very good, but the portion was small for the price. A dry piece of caraway rye on the side with no butter on it or on the table. I hear the drinks were good (I don't drink) but they were expensive. So if you have a light appetite and want a couple of stiff drinks hop in your Lexus or Land Rover and head on down.

  We tried the Avenue Club brunch on a whim and left full and happy. The atmosphere is like being in a chill episode of the Jetsons, the food was an awesome blend of Americana with a nod toward sophisticated modern palates, and Katherine earned that fifth star. She went out of her way to guide us through menu choices and keep us happy. We'll be back - with friends!
